The Week in Review
Since I got back and posted about Daisy, I’ve been trying to keep up some semblance of normalcy in my life. The fact that I have a job and workout schedule has helped, but in working from home Monday and Tuesday I found myself being a bit of a recluse and dwelling on the bad … Continue reading
The Rest of the Weekend
Was so overwhelmed by coming home to a dead kitty that I didn’t reflect much on the rest of the weekend. It really wasn’t my weekend. Bad weather, witnessing an incident on the DZ, and breaking my computer. Fun, huh?
Things you don’t want to come home to
Came home from our weekend in Shelton/Seattle last night, after midnight, tired, cranky, and just ready to go to bed. It took a bit longer than usual, but Franklin came trotting out to greet me in the foyer, and I expected Daisy to be not far behind. She wasn’t.
Quick update, aka bullets are my friend
Since last we blogged… Tunnel time last Thursday … probably one of my best sessions ever. Vegging in town on the Friday holiday … much needed after the four-day boogie. Skydance on Saturday, three very fun jumps Downtown Davis on Saturday night to watch a PAC-load of jumpers do a demo for the crowd at … Continue reading
Saying Goodbye
It only took about 20 minutes to make it official (at least from my end). On Friday, a FedEx envelope showed up at my house with the closing papers for my house in Seattle. This morning, right on time at 8 a.m. a notary showed up at my apartment. To make my cat-hating visitor more … Continue reading
A Pop of Color(s)
It’s been way too long since I blogged. On my trip to and from New York last weekend, I did some reading, but I spent most of the flights watching the in-seat TVs, including a lot of decorating shows on HGTV. I guess I was inspired because I came back and was suddenly quite depressed … Continue reading
Much Too Much Going On
The end of last week had me shaking my head and thinking “Wow. Would not have expected all that this week brought me.” Of course, Tuesday was Daisy’s diagnosis of a chronic illness, Tuesday and Thursday were decidedly different workout sessions from last week (different in that my performance was better and my recovery shorter, … Continue reading
News from the Vet Visit
Daisy actually took okay to the injection of fluids sub-cutaneously. The vet tech was, of course, smoother at it than I was, but after a couple false starts, I was able to try it out myself. We’ll see how I do alone on Friday! So, we’re trying that plus food for cats with kidney disease. … Continue reading
My Sick Little Girl
For the last six weeks or so, one of my two cats was occasionally doing its business in the dining room. It took me until late last week to pinpoint the culprit: Daisy. Over the weekend I worked hard to clean up the carpet in the dining room and hoped that if the smell went … Continue reading
Reminding Myself Why I Love Them
Some days, like yesterday, I have to remind myself why I love the cats. I’ve got one puking (Daisy) and one pooping (Franklin) in an inappropriate place for the second time in a week. Sigh. In Daisy’s case, I know she can’t help it, and the best I can hope for is that I hear … Continue reading
