Week One Back on the Road
… was actually pretty successful. I need to do a few things differently (like remember to bring my Netflix so I have something to watch in the evenings!), and remember the most efficient ways of packing, but all in all, it was good. I especially feel good about how I was able to keep up good eating and exercise habits. I worked out Monday afternoon, and Tuesday-Thursday mornings. Monday and Wednesday were gym workouts (thanks to Noah for the ideas) and Tuesday/Thursday was running - with this morning’s workout I managed to complete Week 3 of Couch-to-5K; now it’s on to Week 4, which I must admit looks a bit daunting. Then again, I thought Week 3 looked daunting … and I managed to do it.
As for food this week I was a bit boring, but sometimes boring works. Oatmeal, yogurt, and skim milk for breakfast every day, and soup with a big salad for lunches. Dinners were mostly noshing at the concierge lounge at the Marriott (not too much since most of it is heavy, fatty appetizers). It worked pretty well, I think. Fruit for snacks, lots of water (as always) and I found that my energy levels were good, my sleep was good, and I was feeling good overall.
Now, to repeat this for … well, who knows how long. Next 5 weeks for sure, then we’ll see.
