I decided early in the week that what my body needed was a mostly-lazy weekend wherein I didn’t try to skydive, and I didn’t try to do anything too taxing to my body. Since I got my cold about a week and a half ago, I’ve only done my workouts with Noah – none on my own. Yesterday morning I stopped taking cold meds, and I seem to be doing just fine, so I think other than a bit of lingering snot, I may have finally bid sayonara to the cold.
The weekend wasn’t a totally lazy one – I did get a lot of little things done; paperwork, benefits enrollment for next year, reading, TiVo/Netflix catch up, and cooking, much cooking. Friday night’s new recipe for Chicken & Spiced Apples was the winner of the bunch – easy, healthy, and with lots of flavor. This is one I’ll likely make again without any modifications. Saturday I made two crockpots full of food so I can have stuff for lunches and dinners. In one I did a chicken tortilla soup I’d made before, in the other, chicken & lentils. The former turned out just as good as the first time I made it; the latter was good but needs to have the flavor kicked up a notch so I will probably add more spices.
I also got out and ran a few errands yesterday, and did some more today with Sean. Tonight’s dinner was soup with chicken & squash, which was good, but needs “something” though neither of us could quite figure out what. The base of the soup is strong, though, and it’s easy enough that I’ll probably make it again.
Really looking forward to kicking my workouts back up a notch this week. Being a slug has been refreshing for a short period of time (and it’s what my body has needed to heal) but I’m ready to feel great again.
