Lazy Sundays

Posted by on August 23, 2009

I’m writing this post from my couch, having just woken up from a nap, watching Sean nap on the other side of the couch and Franklin nap on his usual perch above the center cushion (one of the many advantages of having a huge sectional!)  Yes, the entire household is in the throes of a lazy Sunday at home and it feels gooooood!

It hasn’t been a total slug-fest, we did wake up at a reasonable hour and had light breakfasts, then Sean went off to the flea market while I took a walk around the lake (with a couple runs up and down the Cleveland Cascade stairs for good measure).  We met back up in time to head over for the brunchtime rush at the local Chinese restaurant, which has great dim sum on Sundays, served the way I like it best – with carts coming by constantly with new options.  Of course we ate too much (very easy to do!) but since we only do this a couple times a year, it was nice to indulge.

Yesterday morning we went our separate ways – Sean to Lodi and me to Davis.  Quiet day for me – just got in two jumps; had good intentions of doing at least one more but the winds picked up in the afternoon as a front moved through, and the plane was shut down for a couple hours.  As I was getting ready to leave they had calmed somewhat and there was talk of putting up another load, but they were still too high for my taste.

With all the travel we’ve been doing, a day of hanging out together in town is just what the doctor ordered.  We’ve been on the road the last three weekends; and next weekend we’re headed up to Skydive Oregon again for their boogie.  I’m looking forward to it this year; last year was far too stressful since it was combined with my move down here.  This year – nothing to do but have fun and skydive!
