Deep Red Bells
Last night I finally got to see someone perform that I’d been wanting to see for a while - Neko Case. I wouldn’t call myself a total fangirl, but I’ve always enjoyed her music and, particularly, her voice. I’d seen/heard her on TV and the radio, and enjoyed her sense of humor and rapport with her band, so I figured it’d be a fun show. I wasn’t disappointed.
I invited my friend Eric to join me since he’s a big fan, too, and we met up at Little Delhi restaurant a few blocks from the theater. Hadn’t tried it, but once again, Yelp steered me in the right direction. Tasty meal, then we headed down the street to the Warfield Theater. It’s one of those slightly worn, but still beautiful old theaters that was built back when people were shorter and smaller. Two hours of sitting was like being in coach class, but without the ability to shove your feet under the seat in front of you.
Still, it was a fun show and I’d definitely go again.
This morning I decided to treat myself to an Americano from Peerless Coffee (the headquarters is right near my trainer, and has an espresso stand in the front), and I wasn’t disappointed. Now I want to try the coffee beans as well.
