Energy, Schmenergy

Posted by on March 15, 2009

While my training at Urban Fitness is going great, and I’ve added in lake walks with a friend a couple of evenings a week (now that it’s light late enough), and try to work out on my own at least two other mornings, and am eating well for the most part … I still struggle with feeling lethargic and less than 100%.  I’ve talked with my doctor about it, but we seem to truly struggle with communication (I talk, he doesn’t listen, and/or has already come to a conclusion before I get a chance to finish my symptoms) – needless to say that’s a less-than-optimal relationship and I’m in the market for someone new.

But it’s tough… I realize I’m (gasp!) pushing 40, and that things will naturally be tougher, but in the past when I’m doing “all the right things” i feel really good, and it’s tough to be doing “all the right things” to keep my energy level up and still have none.   I’m hoping that I can get with a doctor who can help me figure out if there’s anything I need to be changing in my life… because I’m tired of being tired.  Slowly but surely I *am* seeing movement on the scale and feeling my clothes fitting better… but it’s a lot slower than I believe it would normally be if I were doing what I’m doing.  I’ve had a tough time convincing my doctor that I know my body – and I know when it’s not right.
