16 jumps later…

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

… I’m back home in Oakland.  I’d paced myself for three jumps a day (after the first day, which was a little slower), but high winds had me choosing to stay on the ground on New Year’s Eve after the first two jumps.  Yes, I probably could have jumped just fine without incident, but I tend to be pretty conservative about higher winds.

The rest of the week in Florida was as good as the beginning - good weather (except for the aforementioned winds), great people, and good jumps.  The New Year’s Eve party was a lot of fun, too, with a fun treasure hunt game and much debauchery to be had.

Photos are here.

What are the odds?

When Sean and I left for Florida on Christmas Eve, I picked him up, and we called a cab from my apartment to take us the short distance to the BART station.  Last night, we decided to split up and each go to our respective neighborhood stations to catch cabs back to our own apartments.  I got off at the 12th Street station since there’s a taxi stand there, and as I walked to the taxi stand, there was one cab there.

I loaded up my bags and hopped in and gave him my address and cross street.  He repeated it and mulled it over a second and said “I think I pick you up before - you were with your husband, I took you to 19th Street BART station.”  Of course the “husband” reference confused me but I realized that he was referring to Sean and that he was right - same cabbie!
