Dental Hell … and other news
I like my new dentist quite a bit, but I’m really looking forward to not setting foot in that office for a while. Today was the 5th time there in less than 2 months. When my dental insurance kicked in on December 1, I got a cleaning and exam, and he confirmed that I really did need to do the two crowns my old dentist in Seattle had recommended, as well as a third. He was able to squeeze one in before the end of the year so I could take advantage of 2008 benefits, then we did the other two this year. So, that involved three visits - one for crown #1 (temp), one for crown #1 (perm) and crowns #2&3 (temp), and one for crowns #2&3 (perm). That last visit was Wednesday and I thought I was done, but once the anesthesia wore off, it was clear to me that they weren’t sitting quite right and I’d have to go in for one more visit. Did that this morning - in and out in 10 minutes, and all my teeth are happy.
My body, on the other hand, is not so happy. I’ve discovered a new FLA* - DOMS.** Sure enough, after feeling energetic and only mildly sore all day Tuesday, when I woke up Wednesday I felt like an old woman. Thursday’s training session was, in some ways, harder than Tuesday’s since I still had soreness from the first session, and I added new soreness on top of it. Yesterday was a sore day, but today’s feeling somewhat better, and I expect I’ll feel even better tomorrow. Weather’s crap for skydiving, but I’m hoping to get out and about and walk or hike or something. And I’m still looking forward to next week’s sessions!

[...] that wasn’t my “official” New Years’ Resolution. No, after going through five dental visits in about six weeks to get three crowns put on, my resolution was to floss more consistently. [...]
