Low Energy at Lodi

Posted by on January 19, 2009

Sean and I decided to spend the weekend at Lodi, with our friend Scott (who flew down from Washington) in tow.  A few wingsuiters were getting together, so it was the perfect weekend for them to take advantage of the still-beautiful weather.  Unfortunately, my energy level is still down from being sick, so I didn’t get quite as much out of the weekend, but it was still a good time.

Friday night, Sean was able to get us almost 30 minutes of tunnel time, so we picked Scott up from the airport and had fun playing around in there.  Saturday we headed up to Lodi, getting there around 10 for chilly, but sunny morning jumps.  I got in three good jumps that day.  My first had a bit of an “interesting” landing as one toggle got partially stuck, so I had to land with one pulled all the way down and one with limited range. It worked out just fine, but it was a little bit of a higher pucker factor than normal.

Saturday night a bunch of us went into the Lodi Beer Company for dinner, which was a lot of fun.  I can highly recomend the Porter and the cobb salad should you find yourself needing food in Lodi!  We spent the night at a local jumper’s house, then headed back out early in the morning for another day.  As mentioned, my energy level was off, and I only did one jump that day.  Still, fun to hang out and catch up with people and watch the wingsuiters bang out some great jumps.
