Sean and I are chilling out at our hotel in Zephyrhills, after a busy three days of skydiving. Three more to go till we head home early afternoon on New Year’s Day.
We arrived in Tampa Christmas morning after a red-eye flight to Atlanta and a connection later that morning. Fortunately, both flights were on time and I was able to get at least a little sleep on the longer flight. Mom and Dad (who had driven down from Virginia) picked us up at the airport and took us back to the hotel, where we checked in and napped for a bit before hanging out with them for the afternoon. We had an early dinner at a local seafood restaurant, then settled in to watch the sunset. A couple games of Scrabble later, and we were ready for bed.
The next day, we all piled in the car to go out to the dropzone. It was my parents’ first time at a DZ, but it seems they had a good time watching all of the action. I did two jumps and Sean did three, then we headed back into Tampa in the late afternoon, in time for another beautiful sunset and dinner.
Saturday morning, Dad dropped us off back at the airport to pick up our rental car, and we headed up to Z-HIlls for good, while they headed south to visit with family members and explore Florida a bit more. I got in three good jumps today and three more yesterday, and am looking forward to a few more days before we need to head back home.
a year ago today I had two of the best jumps in my life at Z-Hills. Today, I’m sitting in a Starbucks waiting on a client meeting.
Last year was better.
Keep having fun, K.
